- Disable Wi-Fi ad-hoc mode
- Use a wireless Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Use an encrypted USB flash drive.
- Use a personal firewall.
- Turn off file sharing.
- Make sure the hotspot is a legitimate one.
- Disable or remove your wireless adapter if you’re working offline.
