Here’s an interesting application of networking technology:
Eliminate traffic jams by tracking cars with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips and Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking (like OnStar).
How would that reduce traffic jams? You would monitor peak traffic levels at bottlenecks and then charge drivers a higher toll in order to give them a reason to take a different (cheaper) route.
